Selling a house during divorce in Shoreline, Edmonds and Bothell

When a marriage ends, the house can become the hardest decision. As a neutral agent for you both, I give you an accurate value and a calm plan, so the house is resolved fairly and you can both move on.

What it feels like

Every decision can start to feel like a fight: the price, the repairs, the timing, who stays until it sells. You’re exhausted, and you’re worried about what’s fair and what the kids will go through.

This is hard enough. The house shouldn’t add to it.

How I help

I work for the sale, not for one side. Both of you get the same information at the same time, in writing. As a Certified Negotiation Expert, I keep conversations about the house focused on numbers and next steps, and I coordinate with both attorneys or your mediator.

The Clear Moving Plan

  1. Talk it through. A no-pressure conversation -- together or separately, whichever is easier.

  2. Get a clear plan. An accurate value both of you can trust, a timeline that fits your agreement, and a short prep list with costs.

  3. Move forward. I coordinate the details -- vendors and handypersons, showings, offers and closing -- and keep you both updated equally.

Questions people ask

Should we sell before or after the divorce is final? That’s a question for your attorneys or mediator. I can give them a current value and a realistic timeline to plan around.

Can one of us buy out the other? Often, yes. An accurate value is the starting point either way, and I can provide one.

Do we both have to agree on everything? Usually both owners sign the listing and accept the offer. I make that easier by sharing the same facts with both of you.

What about taxes on the sale? Ask your CPA how the sale affects each of you. I’ll give them the sale numbers they need.

What life looks like after

The house is resolved fairly, with less conflict and no surprises, and you can both start the next chapter.
